Apple iPhone 11 versus the Android competition

Last year, Apple waited until the end of its event to announce its cheaper version of the new iPhone. This year the company changed things by announcing the iPhone 11 before the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. It is clear that Apple thinks the iPhone 11 will perform better than its "professional" siblings in sales charts.

That said, how well is the iPhone 11 comparable to comparably priced offers in the Android world? Participate and we compare the latest cheap iPhone from Apple with the OnePlus 7 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S10e and Xiaomi Redmi K20 Pro.

Starting with the screen, the iPhone 11 does not start well. The Liquid Retina Display is debuting on the iPhone XR in 2018 and is a screen that is sharp enough and looks better in real life than on paper. That said, the relatively low resolution of 1792 x 828 is not as sharp or colorful as the AMOLED screens of the OnePlus 7 Pro, Galaxy S10e and K20 Pro.

Furthermore goes the OnePlus 7 Pro, the only smartphone in this list with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The high refresh rate contributes to the excellent performance and flexibility of the OnePlus 7 Pro during use, while the other phones have normal refresh rates of 60Hz.

Apple A13 processor

The A13 Bionic processor of the iPhone 11, however, is not lacking in power. Chances are that the chipset does the Exynos 9820 and Snapdragon 855 processors the best in benchmarks, although they all perform well in daily use.

In terms of storage, you will not be disappointed by an option. The iPhone 11 and K20 Pro start with 64 GB storage and go up to 256 GB, while the OnePlus 7 Pro and Galaxy S10e start with 128 GB storage and also go up to 256 GB. The main difference is the microSD card slot of the Galaxy S10e, which is a bit rare for today's smartphones.

Switch to cameras, all four telephones have at least two cameras on the rear. All four telephones have primary and ultra-wide lenses, but the OnePlus 7 Pro and K20 Pro go one step further with a third telephoto lens. The quality will vary, with the Galaxy S10e perhaps the better camera & # 39; s on the Android side.

In terms of endurance, the 3,110 mAh battery of the iPhone 11 seems to be more than enough to last a full day and more. The same cannot be said of the 3,100 mAh battery of the Galaxy S10e. In his Galaxy S10e review our own Jimmy Westenberg found the battery life to be poor.

The 4,000 mAh battery of the OnePlus 7 Pro is large on paper, but in our review the high resolution screen and the refresh rate of 90 Hz provided average endurance. Finally, the excellent power management of the Redmi K20 Pro meant that the 4,000 mAh battery could easily last all day.

Finally, the price is a bit everywhere. The iPhone 11 starts at $ 699 with 64 GB storage, while the 128 GB and 256 GB versions cost $ 749 and $ 849 respectively. The OnePlus 7 Pro with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage costs $ 669, while the 8 GB / 256 GB and 12 GB / 256 GB models cost $ 699 and $ 749 respectively.

The Galaxy S10e with 128 GB storage costs $ 649.99, with an extra $ 100 you get double the storage. Finally, the Redmi K20 Pro is the cheapest of the bunch and starts with Rs. 27,999 (~ $ 393) for 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. You can get the 8GB / 256GB version for Rs. 30,999 (~ $ 435).

At the end of the day you can't go wrong with every phone in this list. If you like iOS, the choice is obvious. However, those who prefer Android have three great relatively affordable smartphones to choose from.
