The Huawei P30 Pro makes waves for the incredible camera hardware that it packs and the versatility that is offered. Now, just two weeks after the worldwide launch, the Huawei P30 Pro is already en route to India.
The Huawei P30 Pro has a laser-sharp focus on imaging and includes three cameras & a flight time sensor for better depth data. The three cameras can switch completely from an ultra-wide 20-megapixel camera to an 8-megapixel sensor that is linked to a 5x optical zoom. The optical zoom lens is an absolute highlight of the device because it uses a periscope mechanism to zoom in without moving parts. You can use the 10x hybrid loss-free zoom option if you want to get even closer to your subject with a negligible loss of quality.
The primary camera has also seen changes and additions compared to last year's Mate 20 Pro. Although the 40MP sensor continues to use pixel binning to reduce noise, the biggest change has been the transition to an RYYB sensor. Unlike the standard RGB sensor found in most cameras, this super spectrum sensor can absorb much more light, data in demanding lighting conditions. Read more about it in our Huawei P30 Pro camera review.
Of course a telephone is much more than a camera. Powering the Huawei P30 Pro is a Kirin 980 chipset, the same as we saw last year's Mate 20 Pro. This is paired with eight gigabytes of RAM. Meanwhile, storage starts at 128 GB and goes up to 512 GB. India only gets the 256 GB storage variant. Although it is possible to further expand the storage space with the P30 Pro, the phone uses its own nano memory card format that is not yet available in India.
Other specifications include a large 6.47-inch Full HD + curved OLED screen and the phone has a 4,200 mAh battery that can be charged with 40 W. The phone also has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Huawei P30 Pro will be available in India from April 15 for customers of Amazon Prime and on April 16 for everyone. It costs 71,990 rupees (~ $ 1035). Unfortunately, it seems that India will not get all the variants of the phone – Huawei only launches the 256GB version of the P30 Pro and also that only in the Breathing Crystal and Aurora colors.
The phone undermines the prices of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus in India with 2,000 rupees (~ $ 30), while the amount of storage has also doubled. Moreover, you can get a Huawei Watch GT for only 2,000 rupees (~ $ 30) if you order the phone in advance.
