Japanese e-commerce Giant Rakuten launches its crypto exchange in June

Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten will launch its own cryptocurrency exchange, called Rakuten Wallet, this June, Cointelegraph Japan reports today, March 29.

According to the official announcement of Rakuten, the central will accept applications for opening accounts on April 15. Rakuten Wallet will start in June.

The company was finally approved on March 25 by the Japanese Financial Markets Supervisor, the Financial Services Agency (FSA). The FSA granted Rakuten a license to operate a virtual exchange office in the country.

At the same time, the e-commerce giant announced that the upcoming crypto exchange subsidiary was renamed to Rakuten Wallet.
