Fortnite Mobile is currently one of the most demanding games on Android, but a limited number of devices can officially play the title at 60 frames per second (fps). Now the newest device to participate in the party is said to be the Xiaomi Mi 9.
XDA Developers reported that Xiaomi's flagship indeed supports the higher frame rate, which should translate into a smoother visual experience. Developer Epic Games has not updated the FAQ page with the new phone, the outlet notes.
The FAQ list currently contains three phones with which Fortnite can be played at 60 fps: the Snapdragon 845 toting Samsung Galaxy Note 9, the Huawei Mate 20 X and the Honor View 20. The outlet adds that the Galaxy S10 series is also available in is up to 60 fps gameplay, but it is also not added to the list.
The ability of the Mi 9 to support the higher frame rate is not surprising, since it is one of many recent phones that use the brand new Snapdragon 855 chipset from Qualcomm. So it goes without saying that other Snapdragon 855 smartphones are good contenders for being next in line. Some of the more prominent phones in this regard are the LG G8 ThinQ, the Sony Xperia 1 and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G.
